Mariza Bargilly
CURATOR
​Mariza Bargilly (b. 1975) is a Cypriot visual artist and scenographer. She serves as the president of CYCSTAT (Member of OISTAT). Since graduating from the Athens School of Fine Arts in 2002, she has worked extensively as a costume and stage designer in both theatre and film.
From 2015 to 2019, Bargilly was the production manager for the Kypria International Festival, and from 2019 to 2023, she held the position of Artistic Director and Curator at the Limassol Municipal Arts Centre. In 2007, she represented Cyprus at PQ07 alongside other scenographers, and her work for Richard Greenberg’s The Dazzle was selected and presented at World Stage Design (WSD) in Seoul.
Her contributions to the field have earned her several accolades, including an award for costume design in Giorgos Koukoumas’ short film Helmets at the Drama Short Film Festival and a stage design award at the THOC (Cyprus National Theatre) Awards in 2014.
Additionally, Bargilly co-curated the Performance Design Futures Symposium (2022 edition) alongside Dr. Marina Hadjilouca, Marina Maleni, and Eleni Ioannou.
